I'm old enough to have actually seen that Wild Kingdom commercial, BTW. My first good watch was a Timex, lady version, but it didn't have the Indiglo. You've provided a lovely trip back in time!
I am also a lover of Timex watches-my brothers make fun of me for it-I really enjoy their expedition line but this post is making me consider getting a weekender…
The expedition line is great. The weekender is what it is: unpretentious, cheap, loud, easy on the eyes, and has enough space on the dial for a sports logo or snoopy.
I like this clause:
"that’s just the price of having kids"
That mindset has helped parents survive for eons.
I have a 1980 Timex Marlin (I'd add a photo if I could figure out how). It's been repaired, but has been with me all sorts of places.
It doesn't allow for photos in the comments, sadly. But drop me a line jim at itscasualtime.com and, if you want, maybe you could do an item on it?

I love my Timex too, but JVL would never lower himself to have a Timex!
